Two years ago famed Swedish paper brand Munken developed a new font which they subsequently made available for everyone to use: Munken Sans – a timeless font, inspired by 1960’s Swedish typeface Tratex.

After the release, I was approached by agency JUNO to ideate and develop a novel playground for this font which would allow creatives to explore its application in surprising new ways. They specifically asked for a solution that would fuse the unexpectedness of Creative Coding- and Generative Design-based visual exploration with precise control over the font’s properties. The result of our dialogue is The Munken Creator: A playground of unimagined possibilities, enabling designers to create visually animated and unique messages. It is an invitation to inspire cooperation among creatives. And a challenge of how we preserve the heritage of design while simultaneously reinventing its tools for a hybrid future.

Agency Dragon Rouge Singapore invited me to bring to life their idea of a flexible visual design system which recognizes the multiple forms in which energy exists. An idea that reflects the various facets and states in which energy can exist – from the electrons of the sun, to the carbon molecules of our earth, to the latent potential that lies in every individual. This is exactly what each “PETRONAS dot” represents. The identity pays homage to Petrona’s core identity and emphasizes the brand’s expertise and technological capabilities.

In the anniversary year 2020, the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien is exhibiting artists who do more than quote, interpret or contrast Beethoven’s work: The exhibition shows how Beethoven’s expressivity and cultural power permeate artistic practice from Romanticism to the present day. Across eras and disciplines, the exhibits demonstrate Beethoven’s inspirational impact and cultural power: The Beethoven Phenomenon.

This project references the curatorial leitmotif of the exhibition: The aim of the communicative approach is to make The Beethoven Phenomenon linguistically and visually palpable and to anchor the relevance of the exhibition associatively.

This is one of the initial concepts I pitched for a direction and mood for a collaboration between TBrand x Verizon, published in the New York Times. A project that explores and celebrates how journalism and the very way of how it works has been transformed by modern technologies and „the evolution of speed“.

The Prelude No.1 in C Major is arguably the most famous of Johann Sebastian Bach’s movements for the Well-Tempered Clavier and quite certainly one of the most influential and defining musical texts in history altogether. To this date, its inherent ideas, patterns and structures are continuing to shape modern music and the way we perceive and create musical compositions. Its harmonic, monophonic progression is almost mathematical in construction and of a timelessness only few composers have achieved. This is why its deceptive simplicity and inherent beauty lends itself to be appreciated and rediscovered in this series of interactive, audio-visual explorations.
